One of the victims in the Jerry Sandusky sexual abuse scandal is speaking out for the first time, telling People Magazine that he, along with Sandusky's other victims, "had a very long battle to see justice done." Aaron Fisher, 18, testified against Sandusky during a June trial on 52 charges of sexual crimes against children. Known as Victim 1 in court records, Fisher's 2008 allegations of abuse instigated the investigation that eventually led to Sandusky, a former Penn State football assistant coach, being sentenced to at least 30 years in prison. "Saying sexual abuse has happened was hard," Fisher told People. "But I wanted to help people see that it is better to come forward and tell somebody than to be silent." An interview with Fisher will run on ABC News' 20/20 on Friday. "Victim means, people feel sympathy for you, I don't want that," Fisher told ABC's Chris Cuomo, as part of the 20/20 interview. "I would rather be somebody who did something good, like a hero or something." In the 20/20 interview, Fisher details first meeting Sandusky in 2005, when he was 11. Sandusky singled him out, citing his athletic potential, and began inviting Fisher to spend weekends at his house. It was when Fisher began spending time in Sandusky's home that the abuse began, Fisher told ABC News. In the interview, Fisher says that Sandusky worked as a volunteer assistant coach at his high school. Sandusky would often pull Fisher out of his class, leading Fisher to sometimes hide in the school bathroom to avoid the former Penn State defensive coordinator. Fisher recounts one episode where he sprinted home from school with Sandusky close behind, chasing after him in his car. "He once followed my bus home from school. He told me to get in the car," said Fisher. "I took off running. He drove on the opposite of the street, onto oncoming traffic to catch up with me, and then I ran up an alley, he went to my house and parked out front. Yeah, it was that bad."
