They are uniformly grouped by the common feature that the instep is exposed in some way, but beyond that just about any feature you can envision you can probably find in a sandal. The one exception I could think of is that I don't see sandal boots. Thus sandals are usually further categorized based on use. There are casual sandals, outdoor and hiking sandals, casual athletic sandals, etc. Discussed in this article . However, most styles that "slip on" rather than tie up are categorized in other ways so that the slip ons category represents mainly one style for men, namely shoes that look and wear like a regular oxford, but slip on rather than tie up. Other footwear that slips on, such as mens loafers, sandals, and slippers are usually categorized elsewhere. Discussed in this article are the major brands that make traditional slip ons. Legend Blue 11s,Yeah, yeah, for some, it will be all hearts and flowers, blah, blah, blah. Well, goody for them. Like that girl who will be staring lovingly into some gorgeous doctor's eyes while he gets down on one knee in front of an expensive restaurant full of approving patrons, and asks for her hand in marriage? Well, la di friggin da for her. For the rest of us living on the corner of cold harsh and reality, that's not so much the case. Who hasn't had that day where there is no delivery boy bringing a dozen red roses to you at work? Maybe your big dinner date was with your mother. Or better yet, you had a dinner party where the attendees were Ben and Jerry, Mrs. Fields and Famous Amos. Was your excitement for the evening another rerun of Law and Order? Uh huh, come to momma Lora, baby. You're in good company. It is time to be a little proactive this year. on February 13th to see if your crush from fifth grade has tracked you down. No. You have options. And I'm telling you, you do one of these three, you'll feel a hell of a lot better than sitting home alone watching a night of "The Way We Were", "Love Story", and "When Harry Met Sally". Option Number One Be your own Valentine. I know it sounds like some cheesy ass thing your Aunt Bertha would say, but hear me out. I'm not telling you to stand in a mirror like Stuart Smalley and tell yourself you're OK (I may vomit just writing it). No I'm saying this is a good time to do a little damage on you. A little shopping, a little retail therapy. You know what I mean. You need to buy yourself something that you absolutely DO NOT need. Whether it be Godiva truffles, flowers, a hot little dress or those red suede Manolo's (like the ones that rest in my closet, sigh), buy it, cherish it, you deserve it, Lady. And it doesn't even have to be a thing. It could be a service. What better day to get a facial, try a Brazilian bikini wax, or get a massage from the hottie masseur named Sven? Come on, live a little! That's right! Happy Valentine's Day to Moi! Option Number Two OK, so maybe you're broke as hell or a new pair of shoes won't make you feel better (in which case, you may want to check your genitalia and make sure you're a womanbut that's another story). There is always the option of being someone else's Valentine. Someone who needs it a hell of a lot more than you. Have you ever stopped to think how many lonely people are out there, where one little visit could mean the world, not just to them but to you? Why not go to a nursing home and visit the people living there? Here are men and women, who many times have no family close by. Just coming by and saying hi, sharing a smile, and bringing some flowers to brighten the room can do wonders. Remember that these are people's mothers, fathers, grandparents. Share your heart with them. You wouldn't believe how full your heart will feel. Or you can go by a hospital (Call first, for each hospital has different policies). You may volunteer in the children's ward, hell maybe the cardiology ward for that matter. If this idea makes you queasy, than simply donate a pint of blood. And then you can go home and watch "My Bloody Valentine"! OK, that part's definitely optional. Option Number Three So, shopping won't cut it and nursing homes won't heal your aching heart? Make a party of it. An anti Valentine's party. Now this takes a little forethought, so don't wait until the last minute. Invite all your single friends who are in the same boat. (Don't worry, Miss Pity Party of One, there are others out there without a special someone!) Keep it light with great music no love songs! Get a silly cake and sacrifice that damn Cupid for not doing his job. You can have themes, swap worst old boyfriend stories, hell, get a stripper if you want! (You naughty girls!!!) But by all means, have fun, eat, drink, be merry. You'd be surprised how a party like this could lift not only your spirits, but your friends' as well. What NOT to do Do me a favor. Promise me you won't do any of the these: Don't go on a blind date. Not on Valentine's. Too much pressure on it, even if you think it's not and if you don't really like the guy or he doesn't like you, you'll only feel like you're destined to die alone. Don't sit at home alone and listen to love songs / watch that movie / read a romance novel. Are you a glutton for punishment or what? And lastly, don't call the ex, whatever you do. You cannot predict his response, or even if (horrors!) someone else answers the phone now!!!! The most important thing is to remember that you give the power to this particular day. If you want to make it a big deal, then it will be. You can also make this a great day to be you. And I mean this when I say, have a Happy Valentine's Day, Ladies.

This classic scene has been replicated countless times by movie buffs and tourists alike. However, it appears that Eagles fans did not like gesture. Many tweeted back saying that there will be a confrontation. One person tweeted, "That is gonna be ugly Snowballs wrote, "We will be waiting in our black and green at the top for you." Expect to get your hands dirty sifting through racks and racks full of items. Some things will be of good quality, some won't be. The best thing about shopping at a charity shop like the Salvation Army is proceeds all go to a good cause. I've found many a good find here. Like most thrift shops it's a mix of vintage items with modern items. Some donated items will even be brand new with tags. This place is worth the effort and the trip. No Relation Vintage 204 First Ave, near 12th Street This shop is cheap and cheerful. The perfect place for finding casual vintage clothes like vintage denim, plaid shirts, varsity sweatshirts, and the like. Cure Thrift Shop 111 East 12th Street btw 3rd 4th Ave (pictured above) Entering the Cure Thrift Shop is like entering a boutique. Their collection is well curated and this shop is organised and clean. Prices are in the mid range. Proceeds go to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation. Buffalo Exchange 332 E 11th Street btw 1st 2nd Ave This is great for finding contemporary pieces at bargain prices. Few items are actually vintage but Buffalo Exchange's collection is full of trendy, young fashion, in style today. Upper East SideHousing Works Thrift Shop 202 East 77th Street btw 2nd 3rd Ave This is a well curated thrift shop with items added often. It's spacious, well lit, and there's everything from clothing, shoes, bags, and furniture here. You won't find a bargain around here nor around any place around the upper east side for that matter, but this posh area of the city is where you'll find the most quality designer items for much less than if you would have bought it retail. Proceeds for this thrift shop go to AIDS charities. Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Thrift Shop 1440 3rd Ave btw 81st 82nd Street This thrift shop has been around since 1946. Look out for Armani or Chanel on their racks. High end with high value. Proceeds go to cancer research. Michael's 1041 Madison Avenue btw 79th 80th Street It's on Madison Avenue so you can hardly expect bargain basement prices, but this is a notable consignment shop filled with designer goodies cast off by it's posh upper east side neighbors. If it's quality designer items you're looking for this place is worth a visit. MidtownSalvation Army Thrift Store 268 W 96th Street West Village, Flat Iron, Gramercy ParkVintage Thrift Shop 286 3rd Avenue btw 22nd 23rd Street This thrift shop is brimming with vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelry. Expect to find fashionable, designer, excellent quality finds. The shop itself has a quirky and cool look and feel. Prices are middle of the road to high. Proceeds go to The United Jewish Council of the East Side. City Opera Thrift Shop 222 East 23rd Street btw 2nd 3rd Ave The day I decided to visit this well known thrift shop it happened to be it's annual vintage event. The place was packed with people who were clearly veteran vintage shoppers and with the shop being tiny in space, especially on the ground floor, digging for goods required some elbow grease and moxy. I'm sure on a regular day it's far less hard work to move from rack to rack. The items here are beautiful. I overheard an employee say items are either donated by patrons or well known department stores I saw quite a few items from ritzy Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus. Prices range from $15 to the high side but fair considering the quality and designer goods. Proceeds go to the City Opera. Housing Works 245 West 10th Street btw. Hudson Bleecker Streets This Housing Works branch is very well curated. You'll find proper vintage finds amongst many designer labels. As you can probably already tell thrift store prices in this area are commonly mid to high, but well worth it for the quality. Monk Vintage Thrift Shop 175 MacDougal Street btw 5th 6th Ave This teeny thrift store has vintage and not quite vintage finds packed from ceiling to floor. Once you walk in the shop you'll see it's got plenty of character and you immediately get stuck in looking for that perfect treasure "hidden" amongst the racks. Just be pre warned, I was expecting prices to be low but was hit with Manhattan prices instead guess that's to be expected for a shop in this trendy downtown area. Still there are a few items in there that are worth it.
