The news of the day is that the Rock and Roll Marathon Course has been released! Those running and walking will now have a start line in downtown San Antonio! Whoohoo! Can I use any more exclamation points to get my excitement across?!! Here's how it works: Person One runs the first leg of 7.7 miles and then Person Two runs the last leg of 5.4 miles. Those who participate in the relay get the same swag (including a medal for finishers) as those who participate in the full and 1/2. Read all about the relay HERE. Come on now, this development has got to get more of you thinking you want to come join the fun. Right? COME JOIN US! While I could stop at these exciting bullet points, I've got more to tell. Can you stand it? Concerning the possibility that my next surgery would interfere with my current training and make me a bystander/volunteer for the race instead of a participant, I got hopeful news this week. While I was a ecstatic that my recent SANIMY (stick a needle in my eye surgeries) have been a bigger success than anyone could have hoped/prayed/begged for, that I got the OK to train and PARTICIPATE in the 1/2 made me giddy with excitement. Oh Lawsy, I think I may be hyperventilating from the sheer joy of it all. It means I get my life back. Thank you, Jesus. As well as a big SMOOCH to all my incredible docs (Dr. Mark Carolan, Dr. Calvin Mein, Dr. Edward Rashid and their lovely caring staff). Now, all of the above news combined is big big stuff, but I think I may have saved the biggest for last. Sitting? Good. Cause this is HUGE. Husband is now RUNNING at least a mile at a time in his training. This is the same Husband who told me about a month ago that 1) running is stoopid and 2) that he didn't think he could do it. While I would like to think it was my insightful and inspiring marathony pep talks that spurred him on to success, he deserves all the credit because he kept running. Period. Especially when he thought (and most likely still thinks) running is stoopid. I want to say to all of you out there reading this and thinking that you could never ever do a 1/2 marathon, running or walking: YES, YOU CAN. The beauty of this event, whether it's just the training or the actual participation, is that you learn that you are capable of much more than you think is physically possible for your body. Husband isn't fond of running. He prefers to walk. Yet, something has taken over, even if it's a small something (which it's not) to make him push his "old man body" to run. On the chance that I wouldn't get to participate this year, he told me, and I quote, "If you can't do it this year, I don't want to do it alone. BUT, I'll keep training and then when you're able to run and train again (after all surgeries are behind me), we'll find a 1/2 marathon and go do it." I think I was speechless when he casually dropped that on my unprepared brain. That's runner talk, bub. He's doing it, I'm doing it, and so can you. Seriously, come join us. Come get your medal and your after race snacks and then come find me and we'll toast our success at the beer tent (free beer for those who have a medal!) Join us and see what happens. Who knows, it just might change your life too. Patti I KNEW when I saw the press release about the route being changed that you would SURELY update your blog you didn disappoint ;o) HOW COOL that rungarryrun is RUNNING A MILE AT A TIME yikes I need to sit down just considering that him I am MOST impressed with him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(exclamation points required). And you you are cleared to full out train with your next surgery AFTER the big day?! THAT GREAT news! And I totally agree that doing this just might change your life So I agree and if you prefer walking over the impressive running join me at the beer tent, and we pick all these runners up off the floor who got a jump start on the free beer while we were finishing up! ;o) Cool Grey 12s ,Air Jordan 6 Carmine 2014 Air Jordan 10 Charlotte Bobcats Oreo 5s Slam Dunk 6s Black Grape 5s Bright Crimson 3s Air Jordan 4 Oreo 2015 Infrared 23 6s Air Jordan 3 Fire Red 2013 Finally we're at F and F you move down the leg somewhat. It is actually down roughly in the area of the knee. Now F is kind of a strange point because it is not really a line of any sort it is just a small clustered of area so Eric's knees is about here and F is about a hand width above, there it is, and you'll know if you are in the right spot because they're going to get very tender so it is the worst of the bunch by far. You continue to move through the area until you feel that specific part of it relax. You can work either semi circular or circular, counter clockwise, or clockwise motion, whatever seems to be the most appropriate. You can even go underneath the quadriceps a little bit but you don't want to go too far to the front of the leg, about the size of a silver dollar. What you are doing is you are pushing the stress down and you are causing the stress to come out of the lower back by relieving tension that could be causing or is causing the issue to arise out of the hip and lower back. If you are experiencing pain in the lower back it is quite possible that the calves are not stretched out enough, it's possible that you've got a tightness in one leg or the other, you've got an imbalance in the hips and these are issues that Kiatsu can fix. "When I get home, I know I'll have a snack, do my homework, and then walk the dog." Quick Clicks Raising Boys and Girls: Differences in Physical Development Is it normal for my school age son to like girls' clothes and toys? The equipment in my child's classroom seems outdated. What can I do? Fun activities to promote math skills Playground safety You'll also notice how much less fighting there is if you stick with the routines. Kids will understand what needs to get done and when. Enough said. And they feel proud when they pack their own backpacks and finish their chores. That's not to say you have to be a zealot. There are times like birthdays or meteor showers when it's okay to veer off schedule and get to bed a tad late. If kids catch on to routines now and learn good habits, they can handle larger changes down the road. Let's face it, if they can't brush their teeth and do their homework now, how will they ever pay the bills and get to work on time when they grow up? Your life nowNow that your child is entering the homework years, it's a good time to plan how to handle it. Set up a place for your child to work. Many kids do well with a desk or table in their bedroom, but some younger kids prefer to do the work near a parent maybe at the kitchen table. Have your child do his assignments at a consistent time, such as right after school or right after dinner. Should you help? Be available to answer questions, but most teachers feel it's best if you don't give answers or actually do the work. The point isn't that the work gets finished correctly but that your child understands the underlying concepts. New Cheap Cool Grey 12s,Air Jordan 7 Retro Raptor 2012 Many people prefer fitness walking before going to the gym or doing work out classes. But is it really an effective way to get fit and lose weight or even cellulite? Could it be as good as going to the gym? Well, the simple answer is; yes it can. If you walk 30 extra minutes a day you would loose 17 pounds in a year, without changing your eating habits! So there's a lot you can do with small steps, so to speak. If you aim for 10 000 steps a day, you will lose much more than that. Add eating a bit healthier and results will be even better. So how to counts steps then? To get a pedometer (a step counter) is the easiest way. They don't cost a lot and are a lot of fun to use. You will start to enjoy counting steps and competing with yourself a bit every day. And the results won't be far away. There are many way to simply increase your steps every day, and you will get more and more inventive as time goes by. Get off the bus one step earlier, walk one way to work. Do a short walk in the morning and a short one in the evening. I promise, once you start with the step counter you will love it and be inspired. You can of course put in an hour every morning or night and do it all at once, but the fact is, you don't have to do it as a work out pass, you can fit some walking in here and there during the day, and you will have the same results. Or walk two or three times a week for one hour, and fit small walks in for the rest of the week. As you can see there are many ways of doing it, and they will all give you results. Second: that oil can be manually mixed in the tank, or stored in a separate tank and injected into the inlet tract by a pump. Third: Suzuki had absolutely the best two stroke lube system, because not only did the pump put oil in the inlet tract, to be mixed with the fuel/air, but it also fed oil via separate pipes, to squirt at the crankshaft bearings. You see these pipes running across the top of the crankcases. Fourth: MZ early TS250 had the main bearings moved outboard of the crank seals, so the mains were lubed by the gearbox oil. A nice idea, but it didn work as well as planned, and with the TS250/1 Supa 5, the seals were moved to the normal position. Fifth: Ford experimented a lot with a direct injected two stroke car engine, called the Orbital, a couple of decades ago. ISTR the work was done in Australia. I think they built a couple of hundred Orbital engined Fiesta prototypes, but canned the idea. Whatever you do with a two stroke, you going to be mixing oil with the fuel. And that dirty. That said, if you wanted a diesel bike that would not be your biggest issue. The biggest problem with diesels is they have a lower useful power range and IIRC more significant for a bike, they have a lower power to weight ratio and power to size ratio.
